Are you energetically sensitive?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 08, 2009:
Yes I am energetically sensitive. However, I am not affected by the emotions of others and I am not easily moved by the energy of others. If my answer to either of those questions was "yes" then, in my book, that would make me energetically IRRESPONSIBLE. I strongly believe that people need and should, for their own benefit, take responsibility for their sensitivities to energy and learn how to manage their energy. This may sound harsh, especially to those who fall into the "Oooooooh yes! I am energetically sensitive and I JUST can't stand to be in an average setting with average people, because, you know, I am just waaaay to sensitive for all that average/bad energy. I am soooo sensitive and that makes me special" category.
Can being energetically sensitive create difficult situations? Of course. Which is why anyone that says yes to being affected by the energy of others should look into how to manage their energy. I believe that once this is learned, then a person can move into the space of learning how this gift can work for them.

Help

i like this. goes hand-in-hand with my response to this question today. thanks!
Do you have practical suggestions to help others learn to manage their energy?
Looks like you know “what” and “how to” of the question. Can you please help me.Before asking for help I have tried many ways .I can say I am much better this year.It happens to me when I have people in my house,if I am visiting others house,if I am going to my son's school etc .etc.I am very much suppressed by others energy my mind talks,i am uneasy,I feel they are superior above me.I have to respect, obey.I am so bad out there,I am just embarrassed,i love to leave that place.I am humiliating myself too.But I must tell you what a person I am when i am by myself with all high energy flowing .I know it is all the minds game.but help me with this if you can.
Strong and insightful words Alchemystic.
To celebriticat; yes, learn to connect fully with what you're feeling without labeling it, judging it, or making anyone responsible for it. Just open up and feel ALL OF IT! Stop pretending that you know what it means. Instead, let the energy teach you what it is. Be with it. Go deep. Open your heart to it. Be like a child with it. Be curious even when, or better, especially when the sensations and feelings are uncomfortable. This will set you free.
Hmmmm…..folks…..my intent was to add something useful to the comments but all I can say is “Can't wait to see how Alchmystic responds to Bloom”….actually, I thought A's answer to the question spoke for itself…..might be me, you know, my energy…..dunno
HHHmmmmmmmmm (I am giggling inside, really!)
I had no idea that anyone would respond to my blog. I did consider that someone would poke their head in and imply that my answer indicated I was not spiritually evolved. This sometimes happens when I either use my sense of humor or when I am very direct without using spiritually fluffy language. So let's just say I am amused by some of what I see here.
Boogie, Thank you for your comment. I love how you responded to the question in your blog because you gave people a meaningful answer and resources that they can delve into if desired. I always enjoy reading what you have to offer.
Celebriticat and Mysticworld, the most practical suggestion that I have for managing ones energy is to begin by being fully present in our bodies and getting and STAYING grounded. Bob's advice is not bad advice, however, what he is suggesting can not be effective, or even achieved, if one is not first grounded. I don't know you so it would be presumptuous of me to offer anything further than that. I don't presume to know answers for others but I do know what has worked and what continues to work for me. Managing one's energy is not a completion oriented task. It is a maintenance process with some days being easier than others. My experience has been that with practice it does become easier. If you have further questions I will be happy to answer them.
Bob, how nice of you to come and portray exactly what I did not want to portray myself in answering the above questions. I do not aspire to be anyone's guru. We are ALL teachers and we are ALL students. There is value in knowing which hat we are wearing when. There is also value in knowing when we are wearing both hats. In coming here and answering Celebriticat's question in MY blog you assumed things about her that you perhaps do not know. I assume you two do not know each other since I did not see her listed in your friend list. You climbed up the pedestal and pontificated. You recited spiritually/energetically pretty words without taking into consideration where the person you are addressing is on their path. It is almost condescending. You said, “Go deep. Open your heart to it. ” Anyone here on Gaia is here because they either have gone deep or are working on going deep. Same thing with the open heart comment. But getting to the point, The question was whether or not there were practical suggestions for managing one's energy. Your suggestion leaves out being grounded. To take your advice without being grounded could quite possibly lead one to getting lost in the energy. This world already has too many people floating around lost in some energy other than their own. This does not need to be promoted. ESPECIALLY in my blog. On the topic of MY BLOG, I do encourage the sharing of thoughts and opinions as long as it is done in a respectful manner. I do not welcome those who presume themselves to be superior for that is not conducive to respectful conversation on an even playing field. Your friend Gabby 1 can attest to that.
And Jackie………you KNOW me soooooooo well!

(thanks again)
My intent was not to convey a holier than thou attitude or to preach from a pedestal but to offer what has worked for me. Granted, I could have used better verbaige, like including the words, “In my experience,” or, “What's worked for me,” but I did not. In any case, if my words conveyed this sentiment please look past them to the underlying intent; which was, to encourage Cathy, or anyone else in a similar situation, to let go of his or her judgments; assume an open, willing and receptive attitude and connect with what they are feeling and sensing within the body. In my experience, if I'm willing to take these steps, the rest of the steps present themselves in time.
