What is so terrible about fear?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 10, 2009:
The way it is used to keep people in their place, or is it the way people allow it to keep them in their place? Sometimes it is used as an excuse to not step up to the plate and fully step in to authenticity. Fear is a tool. The question is whether it is a tool that we master and use to work for us or is it a tool that we allow to be used against us? Is it a big motivator or is it a huge curtain to hide behind? Perhaps what is so terrible about it is how it is misunderstood.

I like the way you have shown both sides of fear. Fear can be a greta motivator.
